In the U-, S-, A-Bahn and on many bus lines
At the following times the transport of bicycles is possible and free of charge in the underground, S-Bahn, A-Bahn and many bus lines:
- Mon - Fri until 6 a.m., from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until closing time
- Sat, Sun, on public holidays as well as on the 24th and 31st of December, all day until the end of the working day
- during the Hamburg summer holidays all day (only in the underground, S and A trains)
In the R-Bahn lines
In order to transport a bicycle in the HVV R-Bahn, the purchase of a bicycle ticket RB/RE at the price of € 3.50 is required. This means that you can take a bicycle with you as often as you like on all regional express or regional trains on the day of purchase.
On the Elbe ferries
On the Elbe ferries in the HVV, bicycles can be taken free of charge without restriction on all days without a restriction period.
Please note: On the ferry Blankenese-Cranz the Niederelbe fare applies. On this line you can take your bicycle with you all day, but a charge applies.
